We participated in a podcast: ElliteCast - learn more!

Now you have the opportunity to learn more about Gauer in an exclusive and relaxed chat with our director, Juliano Gauer.

In the episode "The Impact of Digital on Gauer Industry" of ElliteCast, released on May 27, 2024, Bruno Guitel and Camila Rodrigues Lemos Basso from Ellite Digital hosted Gauer at Braducast Studios. During this session, Juliano discussed the history of our company, the challenges faced during its journey, and the impact of the digital world on the business.

Here’s a summary of this special conversation! Check it out:

With over 31 years of history, Gauer specializes in manufacturing and developing automotive components. According to Juliano, the company has a rather curious history: it was founded in mid-1992 by Balduíno (his father), who knew nothing about this market and ventured into it. Until then, Balduíno worked with his father and brothers in the wood machinery sector, producing equipment for wood processing.

After a few years in the segment, Juliano's grandfather noticed that the market had stagnated and suggested that his children seek other opportunities. As he was friends with an entrepreneur who manufactured marker lights for some Mercedes Benz trucks, and this person was abandoning production, Balduíno saw a market opportunity and received financial and structural help from his father. He continued working during the day in the wood equipment sector and at night began his dream of having his own company in a small space in downtown Caxias do Sul – RS.

Gradually, he added more products, such as handles and cranks, and then transitioned to lenses and lights, which are now a flagship product for Gauer.

Juliano acknowledges that Balduíno’s effort was crucial for Gauer to get where it is today, which is why they continue to innovate in their products, keeping items made from the company's early days with improvements for the current moment and bringing new solutions with a well-established engineering department.

Juliano started as an office boy and, in his more than 24 years with Gauer, has worked in various sectors of the company. His sisters, Luciana and Araceli Gauer, also work daily for the success of Gauer and were the ones who taught Juliano at the beginning of his career. Currently, the company has over 50 employees.

In the episode, Juliano explains the humanization within Gauer, treating employees as if they were family and focusing on their overall development. He also talks about the challenges faced during the 2019 pandemic, where they made a significant effort to avoid laying off anyone from the team, reinventing processes and maintaining production quality at the necessary sales price.

Thus, Gauer recorded financial growth and continues to invest in technologies to consistently deliver products with excellence and innovation to the market. The inclusion of LED lights in the production chain was a milestone for the company.

Regarding one of Gauer’s differentiators, Juliano highlights the “customer focus,” understanding that there is a person there and paying attention to their satisfaction, creating a relationship of mutual trust.

For him, sustainability and community are very important. That’s why, from an idea of Balduíno, the personalized Gauer case was created – a multi-purpose solution that preserves the environment and has even won awards – access more information about it here. He mentioned that Gauer is setting up a research and innovation laboratory to improve manufactured products and production processes, generating less waste. He also discussed the waste sorting performed at the company, among other environmentally friendly strategies already adopted. He also emphasized the social responsibility demonstrated through donations collected for those affected by floods in Rio Grande do Sul this year.

He also mentioned the importance of the new Gauer brand and slogan, launched in recent years in partnership with Ellite Digital, and the current marketing actions on social media, trade shows, and catalogs, as well as the creation of the mascot Ubaldinho and its story, website, and more.

Juliano concluded the conversation by stating that it is necessary to have a lot of faith and perseverance in the current times, to love our family dearly, value others, and work tirelessly every day to overcome difficulties.
